About Us

Charlie Wells Investigations, Inc. is owned and operated by retired Manatee County Florida Sheriff Charlie Wells. Charlie was first elected Sheriff in 1984 and re-elected in 1988. 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2004. Charlie ran unopposed in 1996 and 2000.

Charlie’s career began with the Florida Highway Patrol as a Florida State Trooper. He worked as a Twelfth Judicial Circuit State Attorney Investigator prior to being appointed Police Chief of the Bradenton, Florida Police Department.

Police Athletic League Executive Director
Founded STOP, (Stop Turning out Prisoners) ending early release
Founded LIFE (Leading Inmates to Future Employment)
Founded Victims First (college scholarships to children of murdered parents)
Founded Florida’s first Juvenile Offender Boot Camp
